This documentation is designed to guide customers to upgrade DSA705, DSA710, DSA815 and DSA815-TG spectrum analyzers to the software version of this compressed package. New versions of DSA series firmware are available at the following website: http://int.rigol.com/Product/ProductLine/3 ******************************************************************************** Please be sure to carefully check the product system information and component version.Incompatible upgrade will cause serious problems, such as a failure in starting the instrument. ******************************************************************************** [Important Notices] Applicable models and component versions: ------ Embedded software version number: 00.01.09 and later ------ BOOT version number: 00.01.04 and later ------ Digital FPGA version number: 00.05 and later ------ RF FPGA version number: 00.05 and later ------ Main board version number: 01.05 and later ******************************************************************************** Please be sure to carefully check the product system information and component version. Incompatible upgrade will cause serious problems, such as a failure in starting the instrument. ******************************************************************************** [Notices] - Before upgrading, press [System]→"Information" to obtain system information. - Before upgrading, refer to the "DSA815 Release Notes. txt" file to obtain the updated information of the firmware version. - Please make sure your USB disk can be read correctly. Only the USB disk with the FAT32 format is supported. - During the upgrade process, please do not cut off power and pull out the USB disk, otherwise the instrument will fail to upgrade or even be damaged. - Embedded software version number:00.01.09 and later downgrade operation supported 00.01.08 and previous upgrade and downgrade operations not supported [Upgrade Procedures] 1. Press [System]→"Information" to obtain system information. 2. Check the system information of the instrument for upgrade requirements. If the instrument meets the requirements for upgrade, perform the following procedures; if not, stop upgrading. 3. Copy the upgrade file to the root directory of the USB disk. 4. Keep the instrument in the power-on state, then insert the USB disk into the USB HOST interface (next to the Power key). 5. Press [Storage] on the front panel of the instrument. Select the upgrade file in the USB disk, and press "Sys Update". 6. Then, the instrument starts to upgrade. During upgrading, the instrument interface will display the current upgrade progress. 7. After upgrading is completed successfully, pull out the USB disk and restart the instrument. 8. Check whether the instrument version has been upgraded successfully. [Troubleshooting] 1. If the instrument failed to read the upgrade file from the USB disk, please try to replace the USB disk. 2. If the upgrade fails due to misoperations during upgrading, please try the following operations. 2.1 Insert the USB disk and then start the instrument. 2.2 While the instrument is starting, continuously press the green key [Preset] on the top left corner of the front panel. Press and hold the key until the process bar appears at the bottom left corner of the screen. 2.3 Observe the process bar and wait for the upgrade to be completed. 2.4 After upgrading is completed successfully, pull out the USB disk and restart the instrument. 3.
